Good evening everyone!
Yesterday we unloaded the 2 Chamber kiln, so today we received from the cleaning ladies the bowl samples that Kamamoto and I made.
He decided that we can have a collaboration. He will throw on the wheel the things that I design.
I’m pretty happy with the results of the sample. (*•̀ᴗ•́*)و ̑̑
At lunch time, we also tried the bowl samples. So Kamamoto and grandma prepared ramen for us to eat! (✽´ཫ`✽)
It was fun to try and see the sample bowls, now I have an idea what kind of texture and pattern goes well after firing.
We are currently working on a sugar pot design, I wanted the works to have texture and patterns on them so I tried experimenting on the forms and the textures that will go with it.
After the 5pm working hour, it’s time for me to work on my designs.
Tonight I made a sample cloud coffee saucer. (I’m not sure if the size will be perfect for coffee cup.)
Another sample is a flower kozuke with the texture of a rock that I found while walking around Kanayama.
At the slab studio, Era-san also asked me to make a sample of my design for an apple bowl, I almost forgot what thickness and what mold I used to make this! (Last time that I made this bowl was last March.)
I made some stamps for adding more texture to surfaces. (❁´▽`❁)*✲゚*
Oh, I forgot here is a clay mold for my spoon order! It will be fired tomorrow morning.
The soup cups and the monkeys are Noro-san’s work. I think she is also getting ready for next year’s animal sign.
